I’m just a casual Halo fan but the more “Reach” trailers I watch, the more excited I get about its impending release on September 14th.

Halo: Reach Legendary Edition box set… DO WANT!

Halo: Reach Legendary Box Set - Statuette designed/created by McFarlane Toys

I don’t know if I really want to swallow the $150 (Cdn) price tag.   I purchased the Halo 3 Legendary Edition on release day.  Then weeks later, found it shelf warming at the local big box electronics store and drastically priced to clear.

I don’t believe this Reach set will be shelf-warming in stores.  Arguably, the statuette of Noble team is a better collectible item in terms of general appeal than the quarter scale Mjolnir Mark VI helmet that was included in the Halo 3 Legendary set— derisively nicknamed “the cat helmet” by some reviewers. :-)

150 smackers may not be a lot of money to some people but that’s a lot for a video game boxed set any way you slice it.

$150 is what it would take to buy the complete set of the upcoming Play Arts Kai Noble team figures from Square Enix.   And those figures will be 9-inches tall, poseable and far less fragile than that statuette to boot.

I suppose I’ll hold off on the Reach Legendary set then…

Something strange happened on the Nebulous primary (self-hosted) blog yesterday evening.   I received 8 simultaneous email alerts from my bot trap almost and that’s never happened before…

One IP was from the U.S., from an Arkansas public school network.  Another originated out of Malaysia, and others from China, Brazil, India— quite literally, from all over the place yet hitting Nebulous virtually all at the same time.  A little bit of digging revealed that quite a few of those IPs were also already on blacklists…
