I’m just a casual Halo fan but the more “Reach” trailers I watch, the more excited I get about its impending release on September 14th.

Halo: Reach Legendary Edition box set… DO WANT!

I don’t know if I really want to swallow the $150 (Cdn) price tag.   I purchased the Halo 3 Legendary Edition on release day.  Then weeks later, found it shelf warming at the local big box electronics store and drastically priced to clear.

I don’t believe this Reach set will be shelf-warming in stores.  Arguably, the statuette of Noble team is a better collectible item in terms of general appeal than the quarter scale Mjolnir Mark VI helmet that was included in the Halo 3 Legendary set— derisively nicknamed “the cat helmet” by some reviewers.

150 smackers may not be a lot of money to some people but that’s a lot for a video game boxed set any way you slice it.

$150 is what it would take to buy the complete set of the upcoming Play Arts Kai Noble team figures from Square Enix.   And those figures will be 9-inches tall, poseable and far less fragile than that statuette to boot.

I suppose I’ll hold off on the Reach Legendary set then…
